Offer more capacity than the single AA to D converters. Loaded em up with no problems. Installed in old 4 D cell Maglight with LED conversion and noticed no difference from 4 D cell alkaline. I’m sure runtime would be different but I didn’t see the point in running some D batteries dead to compare.. I’ll leave that to somebody else.
But I have lots of rechargeable AA so runtime isn’t my major concern. Having no need for a new charger that would have been required with rechargeable D cells let alone the rechargeable D batteries .
Another plus is you can get lithium batteries in AA for long term storage.
