So listen to this: I did not plan on writing a review for this product. I bought it a few months ago because I live in a fourth floor walk up in NYC with no fire escape and though I’ve lived here for ten years was having a momentary panic attack about being trapped in a fire. I bought these for myself and then sent them to everyone in my family. Cut to tonight and I’m cooking a burger on the electric grill on my deck. I’m using one of those rubber grill safe mats to make it cleaner – I think that’s the culprit. A grease fire ensues! I’m by myself – but I do not panic. I close the lid, I pull out the plug, and I run to the closet where I have my fire blanket hanging from the hook they provided. I snatch it open run back out to the deck, open the lid of the grill and the fire is still blazing. I toss the blank over it and boom – snuffed out immediately. Fire gone – didn’t even ruin dinner. Thank god I was prepared. I just ordered 3 more.

I bought a two-pack at a very reasonable price. One for my kitchen (where a skillet fire can pose a problem) and one for my car (if I ever have to pull someone out of a crashed and burning car, this would be quite helpful). Products like this fall into the category of, “Now that i think about it, it’s a great safety option!”
The size is generous enough to cover a burning gas grill, frying pan or even the back or legs of a person who was on fire (although the blanket container says it’s not meant to be used on a person). Recommended.
