I am former mechanic and I have found this tape to be very strong in many applications. Remember to clean both items to be held with alcohol, let dry and on many plastics, metal and smooth wood you better have it where you want it first time because it’s is going to be there. Also a pointed tip x-acto knife or razor blade will work very well in removing tape backing cover. And as to working in heat I have mounted automotive window awnings , have been on for several years now you would probably break awnings if you tried to remove them. A lot depends on materials being joined.

I had been using sticky velcro stips or double sided foam tape to mount eurorack synth modules in odd places, but I found that in some instances these tapes would lose their grip after a day or two (or sometimes longer) of appearing to hold. So after some searching I finally decided to try this tape, and so far I can say that it has succeeded where the other tapes failed. I also found that in cases where a little thickness is required I can just double or triple this tape over itself and it works fine. Haven’t tried to remove it yet so I can’t speak to that, but if and when that time comes I will update this review.
