I have not used a sphere for photography before, and I probably have a bit of practice to do, but these spheres seem to be very clear and very bright. I would say they are exactly as described. They do not come in any sort of pouch or protective bag. They are shipped in a box with tissue paper around the sphere. Pretty risky way to ship, but mine arrived in perfect condition.
